While keeping herself open to any opportunities that came her way, she started her first year of Drama at U of C. As of April 2009, she has completed her first year at university and is continuing her pursuit of acting.
Riah emphatically states, that getting the role of Perin in 'The Wizard's Christmas' was such a wonderful experience for her, and her career as an actor. James O. Hopkin: Voice of Malerus
James began acting for the stage in high school after being asked, with no experience, to audition for the lead. After a being cast in the role, rehearsing it, and a successful opening night, a career path was set.
Plays in high school, college, and amateur theatre quickly followed on its heels. The bulk of James’ training came by way of ‘performing'... all year round, year after year, in a town called Rosebud (later Chemainus). It was there that he became deeply entrenched in a resident company of actors, forming one of the few Theatrical Apprenticeship Training Programs in North America. He refined his acting and directing skills over time in lead roles for such productions as Inspector Calls, Dial M for Murder, Gifts of the Magi, The Foreigner, Angel Street and Cotton Patch Gospel.
Over twenty years and over thirty five productions later, James has successfully adapted his stage skills to a full time career in film and television. Recent roles in Montana Sky, Scar, Fear Itself, Daughter of the Bride and Confessions of a Gogo Girl have only whetted James’ appetite for much more in the future.
